As much as we wish it could be, life isn’t all gumdrops and lollipops.  Some hours are challenging, some days are difficult and some seasons are trying.  John 16:33 says “In this world you will have trouble.” It doesn’t say we may have trouble or we might face hard times; it says we will have trouble.

This tells us we must learn to expect challenges and be prepared to handle them. However, we human beings are not handling the challenges of life very well and there are many statistics to support that. We are worried, anxious, less optimistic, not engaged at work and addiction rates and suicide rates are alarming. Clearly, we aren’t handling life well.

What if we did handle life better? What if we did our part and let God do His? What if we got intentional about our choices knowing the choices we make today will impact us tomorrow? What if we weren’t rushing for no reason? What if we realized that we are making an impact every day and it’s up to us to make sure it’s a positive one?

That’s the heart of what my new book, Life by Design: Lessons I've learned on my journey to help you with yours, is about. It’s not about a perfect life of gumdrops and lollipops; it’s about how to get intentional with your choices and let go of what’s outside of your control. That will help you make a positive impact on that world!

Life by Design is available at and at Amazon.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

I saw God do His thing in Honduras this past March. My parents did not know if I was going to be able to go this year. Then one night I found myself in my room just praying that He would let me go. Then a few months later, I was sitting at devotion time in Honduras hearing miraculous stories of hundreds of kids accepting Christ in Honduras. And, it was not gumdrops and lollipops to get to that point. We had to stand all day and our feet might have fallen off! It was hard work building houses to. I didn’t help with that, but the people who did went through hard work! Thank you! Zoe 🙂
