Youth Journeys

9:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Youth Journeys is a day-long program for youth, ages 6 to 18, who have lost a loved one to death. This program allows youth a chance to explore how the death of their loved one has affected their lives, their feelings, self-care and how to embrace memories. The day ends with a celebration of life service. Youth may also meet our pet therapy dogs. Parents/guardians are also required to attend a portion of the day.

Swedish Meatballs made by Norwegians

New Life Lutheran Church in Rothsay will host the 2nd annual “Swedish Meatballs made by Norwegians” supper on Saturday, September 29 from 5:00–8:00 p.m. Offering a menu of Swedish meatballs and gravy over real mashed potatoes, corn, homemade buns and apple crisp or pumpkin dessert, this lip-smacking event is sure to satisfy. A freewill donation will be accepted for the meal. To round out the evening, guests are invited to take part in the basket raffle (raffle tickets can be purchased at the event). Every ticket purchased is a chance to win one of a variety of theme baskets, items, and services. All proceeds from the event will go to the New Life Lutheran Church operating fund. New Life Lutheran Church is located at 102 Main Avenue in Rothsay. All are welcome.

Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, MARY POPPINS is a memorable mixture of an irresistible story combined with dazzling choreography, incredible effects, and unforgettable songs including “A Spoonful of Sugar,” "Chim Chim Cher-ee,” “Feed the Birds,” and “Step in Time.”  Imagination will fly high in this musical theatre delight for the whole family.

Transitions: Beyond Widowhood

Beyond Widowhood is a five-session class for men and women who wish to address the more practical aspects of widowhood. This class is not intended for those widowed less than one year. Discussion topics include maintaining emotional and physical health, home maintenance, making connections, dating and financial planning. Pre-screening and pre-registration are required by Sept. 24. Grief Journeys for Widows Support Group - Evening Group

Hospice of the Red River Valley offers a free ongoing grief support group for women who have experienced the death of a partner. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8 p.m. at Hospice of the Red River Valley located at 1701 38th St. S., Fargo, N.D. This group is free and open to the public.
