Ever have those days where you feel like you just want to hit the reset button and start over? Maybe that’s how 2018 is starting out for you. Maybe you hoped to turn a new page in your life, but that hasn’t happened yet. Maybe the change you wanted was tougher than you thought, maybe you got distracted and busy, or maybe you had good intentions and you just got off track.

What if today was the day to start fresh? We can declare that today is a day to reset and restart.

One of the many reasons people don’t follow through with their resolutions is because they set too many goals and then become overwhelmed at how to tackle all of them. Let’s consider a reset that is based on one word. It’s a word that you choose, that is uniquely yours. This one word is aligned with you who are and who God intends you to be. The one word could set the stage for you for the next several months. This one word could really impact your life.

As you contemplate this, also consider finding a Bible verse to support your one-word-reset. That Bible verse can help inspire you to action as you focus on ‘why’ it is important to you.

Keep your one word and your Bible verse in front you on a daily basis as a reminder. There are a variety of ways to do this, from incorporating the word into your passwords to a note on your mirror to adding a daily reminder to your electronic calendar.

Every day of every week of every month of every year, God offers us mercy and grace; a fresh start. Let’s take advantage of the opportunity to step into the future God has planned for us. Let’s do our best today, and know that tomorrow is another day full of God’s grace.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

    Just Thank You!!
This article helped me, as I have to continually refocus on the innerself’s need to be in control.
RESET-RESTART, like way you wrote, as moment to moment need to continue simply doing it. Wrote it out, so will tuck in my bible.
Bless You for your ministry, and would you pray my wife open’s up more, and God spalleaks to her with past pains?

Thank you Michael! We just said a prayer for you and your wife. God bless you as you reset and restart!

Could you give an example of a word and verse?

    1. Teresa Lewis says:

One word that comes to mind, Becky, is courage. A corresponding Bible verse would be Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. I hope that helps!
