Fargo Marathon

On a cool May Saturday morning in 2005, just over 2,000 people walked up to the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge to kick off the inaugural Scheels Fargo Marathon. That was the beginning of something very special.

In 2014, they celebrate their 10th year! Now… a 24,000+ person event covering 3 days!

Since it’s inception, the Fargo Marathon has given over $300,000 to groups such as the Children’s Hospital, the YMCA’s Partner of Youth Program, the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and the Fargo-Moorhead Children’s Museum. And in 2012 and 2013, 1,000 pairs of shoes each year were purchased and donated to children in our community!

Again for this year’s 5k, $1 per registration will help to purchase new shoes for Fargo-Moorhead kids!
