The Bible‘s epic TV ratings continue, and a survey suggests it’s making an impact.
The History Channel’s dramatization of the Old and New Testaments has attracted more than 10 million viewers each of its first four weeks, with the final two hours airing Easter Sunday.
While the series was being made, actress and co-producer Roma Downey says megachurch Pastor Rick Warren counseled her to ask God every day to “Use me.” When it was completed, Downey says Warren advised her to change her prayer to “Use this.”
A survey by the American Bible Society suggests that prayer is being answered.
It found that 42 percent of U.S. adults have watched at least one episode of The Bible, and more than one-fourth of those viewers said they were non-Christian. The survey also found that 69 percent of those who watched the series said it taught them something new about the Bible.
